Villa Quinto

It was built and for a long time owned by the Quinto family from Vicenza, present in our area since the early 16th century and extinct during the 18th century.

The villa consists of two clearly distinct architectural entities: the one on the left, older, which reveals itself to be a late 17th-century adaptation of the previous building; the long section on the right, dating to the second half of the 18th century, which reveals a more confident and expert hand, suggesting the work of Berotti Scamozzi.

The refined interior decoration can also be attributed to the same period. In the entrance section to the old stables, the remarkable late 16th-century portal is set into the wall, above whose keystone stands an inscription evidently added in 1709. Unfortunately, the barchessa was largely destroyed by a fire in 1922.

Around Ca’ Quinta, the remains of a Roman villa with mosaic flooring were discovered in the early 1900s, along with various other artifacts. In the Middle Ages, a Gothic villa must have stood here, of which a small window in the old section of the villa may be evidence.

Villa Quinto is currently privately owned and can only be visited by appointment.
