Lowland potatoes

In addition to the Leoniceno area, the lowland potato is also cultivated in the municipalities of Alonte, Orgiano, Asigliano, Noventa Vicentina, and Pojana Maggiore.
This cultivation is considered cutting-edge both for its high tuber yields and for the quality, health, and culinary characteristics of the tubers themselves.
In the lowland area, particularly along the red soils of the Guà stream, a potato is cultivated with a typical golden-yellow skin color, pleasant and exquisite to the palate.
The potatoes from this area are characterized by a high dry matter content, which allows for longer storage. Processing and harvesting can be manual or mechanical.
They are stored in suitable cellars that are cool and dark.
